Die Rottenburger geh\u00f6rten bis zu ihrem Aussterben 1411 zu den bedeutendsten Ministerialenfamilien des Landes. Sie stellten mehrmals den Landeshauptmann und Burggrafen zu Tirol. Bereits im 14. Jh. legten sie Urbare an, die ihnen einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber ihren Besitz, die Inhaber der H\u00f6fe und G\u00fcter und die jeweiligen Abgaben erm\u00f6glichten.<\/p>\n<p>Ministerialen oder Dienstmannen waren urspr\u00fcnglich unfreie Dienstleute geistlicher und weltlicher Herren. Sie dienten vor allem als Verwalter der G\u00fcter und stellten die Soldaten zu deren Schutz. Aufgrund der ihnen zugewiesenen Aufgaben und Privilegien, der adeligen Lebensweise sowie passender Heiraten konnten viele Ministerialenfamilien als Freie in den niederen Adel aufsteigen. Durch Grundbesitz, \u00c4mter, diverse Einnahmen und Pfandschaften waren sie oft verm\u00f6gender als der Landesf\u00fcrst.<\/p>\n<p>Besonders im Umfeld der Adelsburgen erbauten sich Hofbeamte wie K\u00e4mmerer, Kellner (Mundschenk) und Truchsess kleinere Burgen und vergaben selbst Lehen. Um Dorf und Schloss Tirol liegen die Ministerialenburgen Auer, Zenoburg, Brunnenburg, Rubein (inzwischen abgest\u00fcrzt), Thurnstein und Gratschberg.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style
