Ab dem Sp\u00e4tmittelalter ersetzten hier \u00fcblicherweise Geldm\u00fcnzen den Tauschhandel. Der Stadtherr richtete Leihbanken ein, die Geld gegen Pfand und f\u00fcr Zinsen verliehen. Wechselstuben k\u00fcmmerten sich um die Wertbestimmung und den Tausch unterschiedlicher W\u00e4hrungen. Selbst der selbe Nominal (= M\u00fcnzeinheit) konnte je nach Pr\u00e4gest\u00e4tte und Pr\u00e4gejahr aufgrund von Gewicht und Metallreinheit einen anderen Wert haben.<\/p>\n<p>Ende des 13. Jh. bis in die 2. H\u00e4lfte des 14. Jh. bestand in der Burg Wendelstein an der Bozner Eisackbr\u00fccke eine von Graf Meinhard II. errichtete Pfandleihbank. Sie erwies sich als die profitabelste im Alttiroler Raum. 1294 traten erstmals Florentiner als deren P\u00e4chter auf. Im 14. Jh. war das Bankgesch\u00e4ft fest in den H\u00e4nden der Familie de\u2019 Rossi, die 1342 in den Ritterstand aufstieg und die Pfandleihe aufgab. Danach waren die Geb\u00e4ude einige Jahrzehnte lang Amtssitz des h\u00f6chsten Finanzbeamten des Landes. Nach Zeiten des Verfalls entstand 1599 auf dem Gel\u00e4nde schlie\u00dflich das heute noch bestehende Kapuzinerkloster.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
