Den Mitgliedern sollte ein gutes Auskommen gesichert werden. Strenge Regeln zur Ausbildung und Vorschriften \u00fcber die verwendeten Rohstoffe und Techniken sollten eine einheitliche und hohe Qualit\u00e4t der Erzeugnisse garantieren. Festgesetzte Produktionsmengen, L\u00f6hne und Preise hielten den Gewinn hoch und verhinderten Wettbewerb. Die Regeln begrenzten zudem die Anzahl der Meister, Lehrlinge und Gesellen in der Stadt. Als soziale Vereinigung k\u00fcmmerte sich die Zunft um erkrankte und arbeitsunf\u00e4hige Mitglieder, ein w\u00fcrdiges Begr\u00e4bnis, die Versorgung der Witwen und Kinder sowie um Gebete f\u00fcr das Seelenheil.<\/p>\n<p>Das Zunftzeichen ist eine Durchbrucharbeit aus Eisen, beidseitig bemalt und vergoldet, in einem verglasten Eisenrahmen. Unter einer Krone halten zwei L\u00f6wen zwei verschlungene Brezeln. Die Schrifttafel verweist auf die Bozner B\u00e4cker und zeigt auf der einen Seite den hl. Blasius, auf der anderen Seite eine heilige Jungfrau.<\/p>\n<p>Das Zunftzeichen hing vor der \u00f6rtlichen Zunftherberge des Ortes, in der die Zunft Versammlungen und Rechtsakte abhielt, reisende Zunftgenossen unterkamen, Arbeiten und Lehrstellen vermittelt wurden, die aber auch als Spital, das hei\u00dft als Alters- und Versorgungshaus, genutzt wurde. H\u00e4ufig dienten Gasth\u00e4user als Zunftherbergen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Z\u00fcnfte in katholischen Gegenden stellten sich unter den Schutz von Heiligen. Neben der Heiligen Familie, die von jedem angerufen werden konnte, hatte jede Berufsgruppe eigene Schutzheilige. Die Verbindung stellt dabei eine Wundertat des oder der Heiligen, die Todesart oder ein Attribut her.<\/p>\n<p>Der heilige Blasius ist der Schutzpatron der B\u00e4cker in mehreren Orten S\u00fcdtirols. Der Legende nach war er im 4. Jh. Arzt und Bischof und sollte w\u00e4hrend der Christenverfolgungen durch Folter zur Anbetung r\u00f6mischer G\u00f6tterbilder gezwungen werden.
