J\u00e4nner 1779 mit den Regeln der Bozner Glaserzunft \u2013 namentlich der Meister Johann Anton Schludermann, Michael Saxer und Franz Telser \u2013 f\u00fcr wandernde Gesellen. Der Irtengeselle, ein \u00e4lterer Geselle, der sich um die Belange der Wandernden k\u00fcmmerte, f\u00fchrte demnach das Gesellenbuch und achtete darauf, dass sich jeder mit Namen, Herkunftsort und Abreisedatum \u201eanst\u00e4ndig\u201c eintrug und kein Blatt herausgerissen wurde. Suchte der Geselle Arbeit, \u00fcberpr\u00fcfte der Irtengeselle dessen \u201eKundtschaft\u201c, eine Art Parole, und stellte ihn dann nacheinander den drei Meistern vor.<\/p>\n<p>Auf den folgenden Seiten sind etwa 124 Gesellen eingetragen, einige sind mehrfach genannt. Die meisten von ihnen stammen aus dem Tiroler Raum, gefolgt vom \u00fcbrigen \u00d6sterreich, Bayern und Tschechien. Die ehemaligen k.k.-Gebiete Ungarn und Trient sind kaum vertreten, ein Geselle stammt aus Serbien. Dazu kommen Gesellen aus anderen deutschen Bundesl\u00e4ndern, v. a. aus Sachsen und Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, aus Polen, der Schweiz und einer aus dem Elsass.<\/p>\n<p>Manche Gesellen vermerkten ihre Abreise, nachdem sie bei einem Bozner Meister gearbeitet hatten. F\u00fcr die meisten war keine Stelle frei, sie gaben an, ihr \u201eehrliches Geschenk\u201c erhalten zu haben, zumeist eine von den Meistern gestellte Geldsumme f\u00fcr Verpflegungskosten.<\/p>\n<p>1779\u20131814 haben au\u00dferdem vier Gesellen den \u201eJ\u00fcngerstand aufgegeben\u201c: nach ersten Wandererfahrungen wurden sie nun als erfahrene Gesellen anerkannt.
