March. Scipione Maffei, Ed all\u2019opposizione del Sig. Assessore Bartolommeo Melchiori. S\u2019aggiunge una Lettera del Sig. Clemente Baroni di Cavalcab\u00f2.<br \/>\nVenedig 1751<\/p>\n<p>Der streitbare Historiker und Literat Girolamo Tartarotti (1706\u20131761) aus Rovereto war ein entschiedener Gegner des Hexenwahns, gegen den sich sein bedeutendstes Werk, \u201eDel Congresso notturno delle Lammie libri tre\u201c, von 1749 richtet. Es fand auch die Unterst\u00fctzung des bedeutenden Forschers und Aufkl\u00e4rers Ludovico Muratori.<\/p>\n<p>Mit logischen und wissenschaftlichen Begr\u00fcndungen widerlegte Tartarotti die Existenz von Hexerei. Magie betrachtete er jedoch als reales, besonders von den Philosophen des 16. Jh. studiertes Ph\u00e4nomen. In der Folge warfen ihm einerseits Bef\u00fcrworter der Hexenverfolgung H\u00e4resie vor, andererseits aufkl\u00e4rerische Gelehrte den Glauben an Magie. Tartarottis \u201eApologia\u201c, eine Verteidigungsschrift, richtete sich ausdr\u00fccklich gegen Scipione Maffei, der in seiner \u201eArte magica dileguata\u201c (1749) abgesehen vom g\u00f6ttlichen jedes \u00fcbernat\u00fcrliche Wirken ablehnte, und den Venezianer Bartolommeo Melchiori, der die Ansicht vertrat, Hexerei sei juridisch unm\u00f6glich nachzuweisen, da nicht
