Mathematikers und Kartographen Peter Anich. Der Autor Josef von Sterzinger konnte auf Unterlagen und m\u00fcndliche \u00dcberlieferungen von Zeitgenossen Anichs, insbesondere von dessen Lehrer Ignaz Weinhart, zur\u00fcckgreifen. Darauf folgt ein Register der \u201eKunstw\u00f6rter\u201c, der wissenschaftlichen Fachbegriffe.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Anich (22.02.1723 \u2013 01.09.1766) war Sohn eines Kleinbauern und Drechslers in Oberperfuss in Nordtirol. Ersten Unterricht erhielt er vom Ortsseelsorger. Nach dem Tod des Vaters 1742 \u00fcbernahm Anich die Landwirtschaft und Drechslerei. Nebenbei berechnete er Sonnenuhren und stellte Taschensonnenuhren her. 1751 sprach Anich beim Jesuiten Ignaz Weinhart, Professor f\u00fcr Mathematik, Experimentalphysik und Mechanik an der Universit\u00e4t Innsbruck, vor, um Astronomie, Mathematik, Geometrie und Mechanik zu lernen. Er spezialisierte sich auf die praktische Astronomie und baute bald selbst Globen. Weinhart vermittelte Anich schlie\u00dflich den Auftrag zur Vervollst\u00e4ndigung einer Landkarte der s\u00fcdlichen Landesteile Tirols, insbesondere der Grenzen zu Venedig. Die genaue und detaillierte Arbeit lie\u00df weitere Auftr\u00e4ge folgen. Anichs \u201eAtlas Tyrolensis\u201c, 1774 in Wien gedruckt, war die bisher genaueste Karte Tirols. Anich adaptierte daf\u00fcr die Vermessungstechniken f\u00fcr die gebirgige Gegend und verbesserte und baute seine Messinstrumente selbst. Bei Vermessungen in den Etschs\u00fcmpfen um Bozen zog sich Anich ein \u201eGallenfieber\u201c zu, an dessen Langzeitfolgen er schlie\u00dflich starb.
