itemprop=\"text\" ><p>L\u2019opera, che fu pubblicata anonima, descrive in 64 pagine la vita, le opere e la fortuna critica del matematico e cartografo Peter Anich. L\u2019autore Josef von Sterzinger pot\u00e9 attingere a documenti e tradizioni orali dei contemporanei di Anich, specialmente del suo maestro Ignaz Weinhart. Al termine si trova un indice delle \u00abparole artistiche\u00bb, i termini tecnici scientifici.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Anich (22.02.1723\u201301.09.1766) era figlio di un piccolo agricoltore e tornitore di legno a Oberperfuss nel Tirolo settentrionale. Fu il parroco del paese a impartirgli le prime lezioni. Alla morte del padre nel 1742 Anich rilev\u00f2 la fattoria e la bottega di tornitura. Nel frattempo si dilettava a calcolare meridiane e costruiva meridiane tascabili. Nel 1751 Anich si rec\u00f2 a colloquio con il gesuita Ignaz Weinhart, professore di matematica, fisica sperimentale e meccanica all\u2019Universit\u00e0 di Innsbruck per potervi studiare astronomia, matematica, geometria e meccanica. Si specializz\u00f2 in astronomia pratica e ben presto costru\u00ec lui stesso dei mappamondi. Fu infine Weinhart ad affidare ad Anich l\u2019incarico di completare la cartina geografica delle regioni meridionali del Tirolo, in particolare dei confini con Venezia. Il lavoro preciso e dettagliato gli frutt\u00f2 ulteriori commissioni. L\u2019\u201cAtlas Tyrolensis\u201d di Anich, stampato a Vienna nel 1774, era la carta geografica pi\u00f9 accurata del Tirolo mai realizzata fino ad allora. Per realizzarla Anich adatt\u00f2 le tecniche di misurazione alla regione montuosa, oltre a migliorare e a costruire lui stesso i propri strumenti di misurazione. Durante i rilievi nelle paludi dell\u2019Adige intorno a Bolzano Anich contrasse una \u00abfebbre biliare\u00bb, i cui effetti a lungo termine ne causarono infine la morte.
