Walkway

The covered walkway along the battlements, closed to the east, was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century to provide a link between the East Palace and the Refectory which lies to the north. The buildings, including the sleeping quarters, which originally occupied this section of the curtain wall, had largely collapsed by the early modern period, and derelict sections had to be demolished for safety reasons. There are small openings in the walkway which offer impressive panoramic views over Tirolo.

Our younger visitors can act out the role of a castle watchman and blow the alarm horn.
